Monel K-500 Round Bar & Rod Supplier
As a professional nickel alloy supplier, we manufacture high quality Monel K-500 round bar & rod.
Monel K-500 is a nickel alloy often used in marine applications. The nickel and copper contents give the alloy excellent room temperature corrosion resistance. At the same time, as a precipitation-strengthened alloy, Monel K-500 can obtain very high strength through aging treatment.
We manufacture Monel K-500 round bar & rod according to ASTM B865. We will strictly solution treatment and aging treatment of the alloy, and straighten each round bar & rod. If you have requirements for the dimensional accuracy of the material, we can perform fine grinding of the material.

FAQ
How to distinguish between Monel K-500 and Monel 400?

Both materials are nickel-copper alloys, but the main difference lies in their strengthening methods. Monel 400 is a solid solution strengthened alloy, while Monel K-500 is a precipitation strengthened alloy. Therefore, Monel K-500 is generally stronger.
What is the difference between a Round Bar and a Rod?

Generally, a Round Bar has a larger diameter, typically over 30mm, while materials with smaller diameters are called Rods. Their manufacturing processes also differ. Round bars are generally produced by hot rolling or forging. Rods are generally produced by cold drawing or hot rolling. Additionally, rods with a diameter less than 10mm are generally cutted from wire rod.
What are the differences between hot-rolled and forged round bars?

Hot rolling and forging are both hot working methods, but they have different effects on material properties. Hot-rolled round bars generally have better roundness and smaller outer diameter tolerances. Forged round bars have better straightness, and the process can be used to achieve a finer grain. Forged round bars can have their roundness and dimensional accuracy issues addressed through grinding.
Can round bars undergo ultrasonic testing?

Yes. We usually perform ultrasonic testing on the material after smelting or forging to confirm the absence of internal defects such as cracks and porosity. Of course, if you require another ultrasonic test after the material is finalized, we can also perform it according to your needs.
Can you provide black bars?

Unless otherwise specified, we provide products with a bright surface by default. If you require further complex processing of the product, you can request us to supply black bars, which are cheaper than bright bars, but have slightly larger tolerances.
