FAQ
What is the main difference between Incoloy 800HT and Incoloy 800H?

Incoloy 800HT is a further upgrade from 800H. It features stricter control over carbon content and sets limits on aluminum and titanium content as well. As a result, it offers the best performance among the three grades, though it is also the most expensive.
Do you perform ultrasonic testing on the plates?

We generally perform ultrasonic testing on the plate billet. Finished plates are too large, making testing difficult. Ultrasonic testing can only be performed when the width and length of the plates you require are relatively small.
Are the edges of plates slitted before delivery?

Yes. Plate billets are not perfectly square to begin with, and their edges become even more irregular after hot rolling. Therefore, to ensure the plates are square, we slit the edges during the final finishing stage.
What is pickling for plates?

Pickling is a chemical surface treatment process for plates. The main step involves fully immersing the plates in a highly corrosive acid solution (such as a mixture of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, or nitric acid) for a specified period of time. The acid solution reacts chemically with the scale, rust, and microscopic impurities formed on the plate surface during hot working or heat treatment, dissolving or stripping them away.
Can you provide a shot-blasted surface?

Yes, we can. If you require a shot-blasted surface, please let us know in advance, and we will add the shot-blasting process after pickling. Compared to pickled surface alone, shot-blasted surface has a higher surface roughness and a more uniform matte finish, which improves the adhesion of subsequent coatings and helps eliminate surface tensile stress caused by welding or hot working. However, shot blasting does increase processing time and cost. The specific process can be customized according to your technical requirements.
Can you provide a polished surface?

Yes, we can. We have large-scale polishing equipment for plates and can polish the plates on one or both sides. The polished surface is bright and uniform, meeting the needs of applications with high requirements for aesthetics or cleanliness. Please confirm the specific polishing requirements with us in advance.
