The main components of Hastelloy C-4 plates are nickel, chromium, molybdenum and iron, and the carbon and silicon content are strictly controlled. At the same time, a trace amount of titanium is added to improve the thermal stability of the material. Nickel, as a matrix element, ensures the ductility and toughness of the material; the addition of chromium significantly enhances the oxidation resistance and acid corrosion resistance; and molybdenum further improves the resistance to reducing media (such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid). The low-carbon design makes Hastelloy C-4 less prone to intergranular corrosion during welding and high-temperature environments, making it suitable for manufacturing key equipment such as reactors and heat exchangers.
