The main components of Hastelloy B-2 strip are nickel (about 65%) and molybdenum (about 28%), while the content of carbon, iron, chromium and other elements is strictly controlled. The high molybdenum content gives it excellent corrosion resistance to reducing media, especially in strong acid environments such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. The low carbon design (≤0.02%) effectively reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, thereby improving the corrosion resistance of the welded joint. In addition, the extremely low iron and chromium content further reduces the tendency to corrode in a reducing environment, ensuring the long-term stability of the material under high temperature and high pressure conditions.
